OLAP Analysis

These OLAP applications show the information in a dimensional way and data is shown by manipulating (selecting, hiding, etc..) these dimensions. The master information is called "dimensions", and the numeric information "facts".

Managed Reporting

This is a collection of pre-fabricated reports that is made available to the end users on the intra/internet or a client-server connection. Users can only open reports and select values to appear in those reports.

Ad-Hoc Reporting

These tools make use of a semantic layer that shows the contents of the underlying database in business terminology. The user selects the attributes that have to appear in the result set from this layer and in the background, a SQL command is generated that is triggered off to the database. The result is then reformatted by a range of lay-out features.
